SKIMMER
Here starts the Cadillacs of sea kayaks either designed by Chip Chandler (Dovekie, Razorbill, Skimmer and Loon) or influenced by him. Built like our canoes, these are very pretty, strong boats.
| Model | Description | Usage | Length | Width | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dovekie | Moderate vee, asymmetrical, stable, tracks well. Person and gear to 250 pounds. | Sea kayak, Tripper | 16 ft 6" | 26" | 45 lb. |
| Royal Tern | Same cross sectional shape as the Razorbill, but meant for someone who wants a longer low volume kayak. Person and gear to 220 pounds. | Day trips, Weekender, Recreational Racing | 17 ft 6" | 21" | 45 lb |
| Razorbill | One of our two fastest. Almost symmetrical with a flatter vee, a real cruiser. Person and gear to 240 pounds. | Weekender, Recreational Racing | 17 ft 8" | 23" | 45 lb. |
| Lesser Loon | A reduced version of the Loon expedition kayak. Long and lean like the Razorbill, but with more vee in the bottom and fuller ends. A good tracker. Person and gear to 270 pounds. | Tripper, Cruiser | 18 ft 2" | 23" | 45 lb |
| Loon | An expedition sized kayak. Large capacity, long for a dry ride, and vee'd to track well. Meant to take you and a whole lot of gear for a long trip; 2 to 4 weeks of well thought gear. | Expedition | 20 ft 2" | 24½" | 55 lb |
| Skimmer | A narrow expedition double, fast and efficient. Cockpits spaced far enough apart to avoid paddle dueling. Center and end storage. | Expedition tripping | 21 ft 1" | 26" | 65 lb |

DOVEKIE

ELEGANT TERN
With the need for kayaks for smaller lighter paddlers becoming so apparent, and for those who just would like a smaller day boat, we offer a series of smaller kayaks. They are the same crossectional shapes as their full size namesakes, and have the same kind of performance, just in sizes more suitable for lighter paddlers and/or lighter total capacities.
